Jan van Schalkwyk

Jan started his career as a chartered accountant at Deloitte in 1991. Jan’s interest in accounting and auditing was always well balanced with a passion for people development and transformation. This finally led him to a move to the Auditor-General, South Africa (AGSA) in 1997, playing a major part in the organisation’s efforts to professionalise.

In 2015, he was appointed as the Executive in the Auditor-General’s Office, where he supports AG Maluleke in her office, with emphasis on her interactions with the rest of the organization and local stakeholders, as well as the AGSA’s international portfolio. He is also quite involved in the INTOSAI community, most notably in the INTOSAI Capacity Building Committee.
