Malehlohonolo Mahase

Chairperson of the African Association of Accountants General 

Malehlohonolo Mahase is the Chairperson of the African Association of Accountants General and has previously served as Chairperson of the Eastern and Southern Association of Accountants General. She is currently the Accountant General of Lesotho, bringing extensive experience in public financial management. A Chartered Accountant, she is also the founder and Partner of Tirong Chartered Accountants. Her leadership roles include serving as CEO of the Lesotho Institute of Accountants and lecturing in audit at the Centre for Accounting Studies.

She began her career as an auditor in several local firms. Mrs. Mahase contributes to national development through board roles at Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital, NHTC, and as a Trustee of the Public Servants Pension Fund. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow under the Public Management Track at Georgia State University. Passionate about accounting and farming, she is committed to ethical leadership and institutional development.
