Meisie is a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in accounting and audit, corporate governance, budget management, workforce management, and strategic planning and management. With a proven track record of developing high-impact strategies and initiatives, she is dedicated to enhancing accountability and efficiency in both public and private sector institutions. Her career highlights include: • Co-developing the PFM Reporting Guide (in collaboration with GIZ), a tool designed to assess strengths and weaknesses in a country’s public financial management (PFM) processes
- Leading a research study on the resilience of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in sub-Saharan Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a pocket guide for conducting real-time disaster audits
- Developing strategies and initiatives for SAI South Africa’s involvement in the audits of universities and Further Education and Training (FET) colleges, influencing improved and sustained audit outcomes in the sector.
- Building capacity and empowering institutions such as Parliament, Executive Authorities, and Accounting Authorities, supporting them in portfolio management (including financial management practices) and strengthening accountability
- Contributing to the value chain analysis, which was incorporated into the enhanced audit methodology of the SAI.
- Designing and implementing strategic initiatives that drive institutional performance and governance.
