Ms Josephine Okui Ossiya

Insititute of Certified Public Accountants Of Uganda

Josephine Okui Ossiya has extensive management experience, including 14 years in public-private partnerships. She has worked across the power and energy sector, oil & gas, pensions, financial services, FMCG, real estate, telecommunications, and state-owned enterprises. Her career spans roles in Uganda, Kenya, DRC, Zambia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, and Ghana, with strong networks in AFDB, IFC, and government institutions.


She is the Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Markets Authority. Previously, she served as Chief Financial Officer at Bujagali Energy Limited and American Tower Corporation Ghana, Finance Director at Eskom Uganda, and held finance leadership roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Shell Uganda, British American Tobacco, NSSF, and NWSC.



A Certified Public Accountant and Fellow of ACCA (UK), she holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University. She serves on several boards, including the Bank of Uganda, IRA, and Busitema University.
