Accountant General of Abia State

Njum Onyemenam is a distinguished finance professional with over 25years of experience spanning strategy, financial control, investment, and tax management. Currently the Accountant General of Abia State, she previously excelled as CFO for leading insurance Companies like Heirs General Insurance, establishing robust financial frameworks and driving growth. A visionary leader, excellent collaborator, profoundly passionate, and results-oriented. She actively contributes to the financial profession as a Governing Council member of ICAN and previously chaired the Accounting Technical Committee of the Nigeria Insurance Association CFOs.

An award-winning Actuarial Science graduate from The University of Lagos and MBA holder from Lagos Business School with a High scholastic achievement, international honor recognition of the Beta Gamma Sigma Society. A Fellow of ICAN, CITN, and a member of CIIN and CPIN, holding a PhD (Honoris Causa). She has significantly contributed to financial reporting transitions within the Nigeria insurance industry and the IPSAS implementation in Nigeria.
